Tacloban City, Leyte (PNA) - The National Housing Authority (NHA) inaugurated Thursday afternoon a housing project for Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) servicemen in Brgy. Tagpuro here.

The 8.7 - Hectare housing project - Sangyaw AFP-PNP Project will be for 450 police personnel, 450 AFP personnel, 50 jail personnel and 50 fire officers. NHA Regional Office Estate Management Specialist head Dorcas Tiston Secreto said the housing project is under its Community Initiative Program.

Secreto said some 1000 housing units will be built under the project with the first 500 units expected to be awarded this June. The housing amortization is 200 pesos monthly for the first four years; amortization in succeeding years will be based on the receipient's salary rate. The house is payable in 30 years. The Housing units will be on 40 square meter-lots, with a floor are of 22 square meters.
