The National Housing Authority (NHA) released financial assistance to 128 families whose houses were recently destroyed by fire in Mandaluyong City on April 7, 2022.
The affected families are from Blocks 5, 37, 38, 39, and 40 of Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
NHA NCR West Sector Regional Manager Luz U. Evangelista led the distribution of cash aid amounting to P3.840 million held at Brgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City. Mayor Carmencita A. Abalos and City Councilor Benjie Abalos joined NHA in the said event.
According to Ms. Evangelista, after undergoing a careful evaluation and damage assessment, each family received a P30,000.00 cash grant, the maximum amount given on the basis that 100% of their structures were damaged, to help them reconstruct their homes.
The release was made through payroll, based on the approved and validated Master list of affected families from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) submitted by the LGU.
NHA General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr., approved the grant of EHAP under NHA Board Resolution No. 5430 issued on February 24, 2012.
EHAP was formerly known as Housing Materials Assistance Program (HOMA), aimed to assist households and families affected by calamities. Through the leadership of GM Escalada, the EHAP has enabled a quicker response and release of assistance to low-income families and informal settler families (ISFs).
