
About 2,000 beneficiaries joined the successful launching of the National Housing Authority’s (NHA) first People’s Caravan: Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-asa, held at the Villa de Adelaida Housing Project in Brgy. Halang, Naic, Cavite on September 15, 2023.
Representing NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, NHA Assistant General Manager Alvin S. Feliciano led the activity, together with Naic Mayor Ruperto C. Dualan and Vice Mayor Junio C. Dualan.
In his message, AGM Feliciano emphasized the importance of the said caravan to the beneficiaries.
“Ito po ang kauna-unahang People’s Caravan na inilunsad ng NHA. At mapalad po ang Naic dahil kayo po ang unang binabaan hindi lamang po ng NHA, bagkus ng iba pang ahensiya ng gobyerno. Nagsama-sama po kami para po ipaalam ang lahat ng programa at proyekto na puwedeng pakinabangan ng mamamayang Pilipino.”
The beneficiaries were from the NHA’s housing projects Bronzeville 1 & 2, Bronzeville Extension, Belmont Homes 1 & 2, and Harbor Homes.
While queueing for her son’s birth certificate, Reviva B. Bohol, 41, of Villa de Adelaida, expressed her joy and gratitude for the various services provided by the caravan.
“Maraming-maraming salamat sa NHA kasi lumapit na sila sa amin, hindi na kami mahihirapan, mapalayo, hindi na kami gagastos kaya nagpapasalamat kami talaga nang sobra,” Bohol shared.
Among the services offered to Caviteño families were free legal consultations administered by the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), orientation, training and starter kits conducted by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), DOST-Food Nutrition Research Institute, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Agriculture (DA), DA-Agricultural Training Institute; affordable and fresh agricultural products on sale at DA-KADIWA Store.

Free medical services such as check-ups, medicines, and vitamins were made accessible by the Department of Health (DOH) with the help of the Rural Health Unit and UP-Philippine General Hospital, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Municipality of Naic. The Commission of Population and Development also distributed population control kits.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Communications Technology installed on-site Internet connection, while the Philippine National Police and the AFP provided peace and order.
The provincial government of Cavite extended other services, while Gardenia Bakeries provided bread.

Also present during the caravan launching were NHA Region IV Manager Roderick T. Ibañez, Cavite District Office Manager Engr. Alph L. Orticio, Community Support Services Department Manager A Lolita L. Mediavillo, Jacinto Remulla as representative of Cavite Governor Juanito Victor C. Remulla, and other officials and employees of the local government and NHA.
