In celebration of the National Shelter Month, the National Housing Authority (NHA) Region I/ CAR-1, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development- Region I (DHSUD), and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan held the groundbreaking and capsule- laying ceremony of the Pilgrim Heights Government Employees Housing on October 20, 2021, in Manaoag, Pangasinan.
The ceremony was led by NHA Assistant General Manager Engr. Victor C. Balba, NHA Region I/CAR-1 Manager Engr. Maria Belinda Sevalla, with Pangasinan Governor Hon. Amado I. Espino III, Manaoag Municipal Mayor Kim Michael Amador and DHSUD Regional Director Atty. Raymundo A. Foronda.
The Pilgrim Heights Housing Project is NHA’s project under its Government Employees Housing Program (GEHP) located in Barangay Pugaro, Manaoag, Pangasinan. It is a 375 two-storey duplex housing unit, with each unit measuring 60 square meters in an 80 sqm lot size will be constructed in a total of 55,905 sqm land area that would benefit qualified uniformed personnel of AFP & PNP, including BFP, BJMP BuCOR, and other Government Employees.
Each unit cost around P1.9 million payable for a maximum of 30 years. The total estimated project cost is P714,144,000.00 which includes land development as well as community facilities like parks and playgrounds, multi-purpose covered court, and basketball court.
Meanwhile, other key officials who were present during the groundbreaking ceremony were NHA Region I/CAR-1 District 2 Officer-In-Charge, Engr. Roman E. Macatangay, NHA I/CAR I Program Office Officer-In-Charge, Ms. Aida. C. Daiwey, Pangasinan 4th District Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario and Manaoag Vice Mayor Domy Ciano Ching.
