National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai led the ceremonial awarding of Certificates of House Allocation (CHA) and key turnover at the Lubao Resettlement Project in Brgy. San Pablo 2nd, Lubao, Pampanga, on December 12, 2022.

The resettlement project is under NHA’s housing program for the informal settler families (ISFs) affected by the Supreme Court’s Mandamus to clean up the Manila Bay area. The program is an aid of NHA to local government units (LGUs) in ensuring that affected families with houses along waterways, like the Manila Bay area, are permanently removed and relocated to resettlement sites.

The Lubao Resettlement Project will generate a total of 1,000 single-story row houses wherein each unit has a lot area of 40 sqm and a floor area of 27 sqm. The said activity is a response of NHA to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s commitment to providing the ISFs and the marginalized with affordable and resilient homes and sustainable communities to address the housing backlog in the country and achieve zero ISFs within the duration of his term.

Meanwhile, GM Tai conducted an ocular of all housing units in the resettlement site to ensure the quality of the houses built.

According to the GM, the NHA is continuously coordinating with LGUs to Build Better and More (BBM) Housing for the Filipino people in the metro and the countryside.

Present during the event were Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Region 3 Director Julius Ervin Enciso; NHA Region 3 Officer-in-Charge Minerva Calantuan, Pampanga/Bataan/Zambales District Manager Engr. Rogie C. Pineda, and Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor representatives Elpidio Jordan and Rodel Francisco.
