Fifty families affected by the North-South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR-EX) Project of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Philippine National Railways (PNR) were awarded housing units by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in a ceremony held at Brgy. Calulut, San Fernando City, Pampanga on July 12, 2023.

NHA General Manager (GM) Joeben Tai personally spearheaded the awarding of the housing units from the San Fernando View Residences (SFVR) Phase 2 to the beneficiaries. They represent the first batch among the 1,138 project-affected households (PAHs) from seven barangays of the city.

In his message, GM Tai congratulated the beneficiaries on their new homes and asked them to take care of the houses they have received.

“Ang mga pabahay na ito ay sumisimbolo ng pagsisimula ng pag-unlad ng inyong siyudad. Hangad namin sa NHA na pagyamanin, alagaan at mahalin ninyo ang mga bagong tirahan ninyo.”

GM Tai also assured that the NHA is in constant coordination with the local government of San Fernando to cater to the needs of the beneficiaries.

“Simula pa lamang po ito ng aming suporta sa inyo. Asahan po ninyo na sa aming pakikipagtulungan sa inyong pamahalaang lungsod, marami pa pong programang pabahay at kaakibat na proyekto sa pagpapaunlad sa inyong komunidad ang inyong matatanggap sa ilalim ng administrasyong Marcos,” the GM said.

The San Fernando View Residences (SFVR) Phase 2 is part of the NHA’s Build Better and More (BBM) Housing Program, aimed at producing 1.3 housing units in six years in support of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program of the Marcos administration.

Joining GM Tai in the event were DOTr Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Undersecretary Gary V. de Guzman, Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Chairperson and CEO Usec. Elpidio R. Jordan, Jr.; Pampanga Governor Dennis G. Pineda, San Fernando City Mayor Vilma B. Caluag, and other national and local government officials.
