The National Housing Authority (NHA) with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) held the groundbreaking of the low-rise building (LRB) project and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the proposed housing project for the employees of the CDA on March 10, 2022 in Brgy. Paligsahan, Quezon City.

NHA General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr. led the ceremony with OGM Chief-of-Staff Atty. John-Christopher T. Mahamud, NCR East Sector Region Officer-in-Charge Engr. Maura D. Aggarao, and Quezon City District OIC Engr. Michelle P. Mahamud. They were joined by the CDA Chairperson, Undersecretary Joseph B. Encabo, and Board Members Assistant Secretaries Vidal D. Villanueva III, Abad L. Santos, Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, Virgilio R. Lazaga, and Acting Administrator Myrla B. Paradillo.

During the ceremony, Usec. Encabo thanked the Authority for its support in making the project a reality. He particularly expressed his gratitude to GM Escalada for immediately heeding the call to help build this project for the employees of the CDA. On the other hand, GM Escalada promised to support the endeavors of the CDA.

The proposed 5-storey LRB consists of a 1,029.18 sqm floor area that will generate 54 housing units, each unit measuring 24 sqm. The building’s ground floor, with a total lot area of 175.77 sqm, is for leasable commercial spaces.

The CDA LRB project is under the NHA’s Government Employees’ Housing Program (GEHP) as per NHA Memorandum Circular No. 2021-016.
