Amid the pandemic and sans usual colorful celebrations, the National Housing Authority held its 45th Anniversary by launching an exhibit at the Main Office in Quezon City on October 16, 2020.

General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada Jr., Assistant General Manager Victor C. Balba and Chief of Staff Atty. John-Christopher T. Mahamud led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Government Employees Housing Program (Tahanan ng Kawani ng Bayan) Exhibit at the Main Lobby, coinciding with NHA’s 45th Anniversary celebration.

Department managers, employees and guests were witness to the event, where the GM also made his anniversary message, encouraging every one of the continued, dedicated service to the people by Building a Culture of Quality, as well as Building a Culture of Legacy.

“We encourage the younger ones to take the challenges because many of our senior officers, including myself, will soon take our vows … and therefore, what we can leave to everyone is the legacy of Building a Culture of Quality,” adding the need for the Authority to craft a new charter for its continued existence as a corporation.

This after the GM introduced to NHA family the Agency’s new spokesperson, Melanie Severino, who served as master of ceremonies for the event. The former regional ABS-CBN TV reporter and anchor took the place of erstwhile spokesperson, RDSD Manager Elsie Trinidad, who retired from the service recently.

Meanwhile, simultaneous with the anniversary celebration was the Memorandum of Agreement signing between NHA and Palayan City.

GM Escalada and Palayan City Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas signed the MOU that will cover the disposition of more or less 800 unawarded housing units in San Lorenzo Heights — an AFP-PNP Housing Project — in Bgy. Atate, Palayan, Nueva Ecija, to qualified beneficiaries at the NHA’s Boardroom.

Among the witnesses present were AGM Balba, COS Atty. Mahamud, Tarlac District Manager-OIC Fatima T. dela Cruz and NHA-Region 3 Manager Roderick T. Ibanez.
