The National Housing Authority (NHA), headed by the Project Operations Support Services Department (POSSD), conducted the Accreditation Seminar-Workshop of the New Constructors’ Performance Evaluators (CPEs) at Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Quezon City from April 20 to 22, 2022.

A total of 29 participants, including engineers and architects from the 16 NHA regional offices and POSSD staff, attended the seminar.

The Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) led the workshop seminar, which aimed to train qualified architects and engineers on the mechanics and methodologies of the CPEs for accreditation of new evaluators and to promote awareness of the importance of the CPEs as a tool for rating the performance of constructors.

Present during the opening ceremony were NHA Housing Support Services Group (HSSG) Group Manager Atty. Maria Magdalena D. Siacon, POSSD Department Manager Engr. Wunibald J. Viaña, CIAP Executive Director Doris U. Gatcho, and resource speakers Engr. Leilani Del Prado, Engr. Nikki C. Najaro, and Ms. Rose Anne Bolitres.

According to Atty. Siacon, this seminar is needed for the Authority to evaluate and monitor the constructors properly. For his part, Engr. Viaña said that despite the limited resources and regardless of the sources of funds, the Authority still managed to evaluate projects during the pandemic. Thus, this training workshop on CPEs will help the competencies of the participants as they go back to their respective offices.

On the last day, the participants shall present an actual CPEs project site evaluation at Deparo Residences, Deparo, Caloocan City as a closing activity to assess their knowledge during the training workshop.
