The National Housing Authority (NHA) distributed a total of P13.28 million financial aid to 1,328 Navoteño fire victims, in an activity held at the Navotas Sports Complex on August 22, 2023.

NHA-NCR North Sector Regional Manager Engr. Jovita G. Panopio represented NHA General Manager Joeben Tai during the distribution of cash assistance to the beneficiaries, together with Senator Christopher Lawrence T. Go, Navotas City Mayor John Reynald M. Tiangco, Vice Mayor Tito M. Sanchez, and NHA MaNaVa District Manager Engr. Nora E. Aniban.

Each beneficiary from Barangays North Bay Boulevard North, Bagong Bayan North, Tangos North, Tangos South, Navotas West, San Roque, Sipac Almacen, Bangkulasi, and Daanghari received P10,000 cash assistance through the NHA’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). They were victims of fire incidents which occurred between October 2019 to May 2023.

One of the beneficiaries expressed her gratitude after receiving the cash aid. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa NHA dahil hindi nila kami pinabayaan sa aming mga pangangailangan. Malaking tulong po ito sa amin para makabili ng mga materyales sa pagpapagawa ng aming bahay,” said Jennifer Balucay, 36, of Brgy. North Bay Boulevard North, Navotas City.

The NHA EHAP aims to provide financial assistance to families affected by calamities such as fire, flood, earthquake, and typhoon, to help them recover from the tragedy.
