A total of 2,000 families whose houses were damaged and destroyed by Super Typhoon Odette last December 2021 received cash assistance from the National Housing Authority (NHA) on November 18, 2022.

NHA General Manager (GM) Joeben Tai led the cash grant distribution to 1,000 families from Lapu-Lapu City, 500 from Carcar City, and 500 from Naga City. Each family beneficiary received P10,000.

The cash aid is under the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) of the NHA, wherein it provides quick response cash assistance to qualified low-income and marginalized families affected by natural or man-made calamities. Under this program, beneficiaries receive P10,000 to P30,000 cash assistance, depending on the damage to their houses.

EHAP is one of the priority programs of GM Tai, distributing a total of P2.419 billion in EHAP funds since he assumed office on August 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, GM Tai conducts project inspections across NHA, consultation dialogs with beneficiaries, and coordinates with local government units for future housing development projects.
