National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada Jr. led the inauguration of the Ciudad de Dahican Housing Project in Mati, Davao Oriental on October 8, 2021.

GM Escalada was joined in the ribbon-cutting ceremony by Davao Oriental Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang; Mati, Davao Oriental Mayor Michellin N. Rabat; Davao Oriental 2nd District Congressman Joel Mayo Z. Almario; and Davao Oriental 1st District Congresswoman Corazon N. Malanyaon.

Also present during the event were NHA Region XI Acting Manager Sonia J. Bulseco; NHA National Program Coordinator for Government Employees Housing Program (GEHP); AFP/PNP Housing Program and Housing Program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) Leanne D. Villanueva; and NHA Spokesperson Melanie Severino.

The Ciudad de Dahican is NHA’s housing project located in Brgy. Dahican, Mati, Davao Oriental under GEHP. It is an 8.766-hectare property with 500 house-and-lot units. Each 2-storey duplex-type housing unit has an average lot size of 80 square meters and a floor area of 60 square meters.

The project includes community facilities such as covered court, talipapa, tricycle terminal, material recovery facility, livelihood, and training center, as well as a health and day-care center.

Ciudad de Dahican is intended for government officials and employees such as the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Corrections, and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Likewise, the house-and-lot units shall be offered to our OFWs who have manifested their interest and are applying for NHA’s housing projects.
