The National Housing Authority (NHA) signed a usufruct agreement with the Quezon City local government on March 16, 2022 to develop the 20,955 sqm NHA property located in NIA Road, Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City (QC) to address the housing needs of its constituents and beneficiaries.

NHA General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr. and QC Mayor Joy Belmonte signed the agreement in a ceremony held in Brgy. Pinyahan, QC. Also present in the said activity were Vice Mayor Gian Sotto; 4th District Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay; Councilors Irene Belmonte, Marra Suntay, and Ivy Lagman; QC Legal Officer Atty. Niño Casimiro; Housing Community Development and Resettlement Department Chief Ramon Asprer; City Architect Lucille Chua; Pinyahan Chairman Carl Lipnica; NHA East Sector Regional Manager Maura D. Aggarao; and NHA-QC District Officer-in-Charge Michelle P. Mahamud.

According to QC officials, the property will be utilized to cater to the housing needs of 3,657 families. Apart from housing units, there are also plans to build a playground, daycare, health center, chapel, and multipurpose hall on the project site.

GM Escalada, in his message, congratulated the residents of QC for having a mayor, a vice mayor, and a congressman who care for them. “I told Mayor Joy that there is no turning back, the moment I sign the agreement, your building will stand in the next three years,” he added.

GM Escalada further assured the QC residents that the NHA and the QC government will provide a notice of award or entitlement to the qualified residents of the city as a guarantee of their housing award even while the project is still ongoing.
