The National Housing Authority (NHA) raffled assignments for housing awards to qualified government uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire (BOF), Bureau of Corrections (BuCOR), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and other government employees on December 14, 2021.

The raffle draw was held in Barangay Cabaluay, Zamboanga City led by NHA Region IX Acting Regional Manager Engr. Al-Khwarizmi Indanan with AFP Housing Board Chair Lt. Gen. Erickson R. Gloria, PNP Shelter Board Secretary PCOL Abelardo C. Matillano, and Regional 9 Shelter Board Chair Police Brigadier General Victor K. Wanchankan.

They were also joined by Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco, Zamboanga 2nd District Representative Manuel Jose. M. Dalupe, Zamboanga 1st District Representative Cesar L. Jimenez, Jr., and other NHA officers and staff.

The Regional Office has received 2,269 applications from qualified government personnel. However, only 925 house and lot packages are available for disposition at the Cabaluay Place housing project in Zamboanga City.

According to Engr. Indanan, NHA has been conducting raffle draws for house and lot unit assignments in instances that the number of equally-qualified applicants is greater than the number of available housing units. The NHA undertakes said activity for transparency and ensures fairness and equal distribution of housing units
