The National Housing Authority (NHA), led by the NCR East Sector, distributed P175,000 cash assistance to eight fire-victim families from Brgy. Holy Spirit and Commonwealth, Quezon City on July 12, 2022 at the NHA multi-purpose covered court.
According to NHA East Sector Officer-in-Charge Engr. Maura D. Aggarao, NHA General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr. approved the release of the cash aid through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). Under the said program, NHA provides quick financial assistance to families affected by natural and man-made calamities amounting to P20,000.00 to P30,000.00 per family, depending on the damage to their houses.
Engr. Agarrao said the NHA had allocated P2.070 million in funding assistance for 73 families whose houses were destroyed by fires last November and December 2021, and January and February 2022.
On July 13, 2022, the NHA shall release the second batch of the financial grant to other 65 fire-victim families from Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City, amounting to P1.895 million. The activity shall be held at the Amiac Village Covered Court, Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City.
