The National Housing Authority (NHA) is set to relocate 357 more informal settler families (ISFs) living along creeks in Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City, and who are to be affected by the government’s planned infrastructure project.
According to NHA Quezon City District Office, the ISFs shall be displaced with the construction of a box culvert project which passes the roads of Constabulary, Dalton, and Kasiyahan intended to mitigate flooding in the said areas. This is a joint project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Quezon City Local Government.
On November 12, 2021, the NHA QC District Office commenced with the relocation of the eight (8) ISFs to the Norzagaray Homes Resettlement Project located in Brgy. Anyatam, San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
On November 15, 2021, another nine (9) families were transferred to the same NHA project site in close coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The relocation of the ISFs in QC is under the NHA’s Resettlement Program intended to assist families affected by government infrastructure projects and those living in danger areas. The said program entails the provision of housing units, community facilities, socio-economic, and other community support programs
Meanwhile, the NHA QC District Office is constantly coordinating with the LGU with their relocation requirements. San Ildefonso, Bulacan LGU strictly prescribes relocation of only 20 families per week who tested negative for COVID-19.
