The National Housing Authority (NHA), through its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), turned over a total of P10.95M cash aid to the Batanes LGU for 907 Typhoon Kiko victim families on December 22, 2022.

NHA Officer-in-Charge Roderick T. Ibanez, on behalf of General Manager Joeben Tai, personally handed over the cash grant to Batanes Provincial Planning and Development coordinator Marissa Antonio.

According to Antonio, 75 percent of the families in Batanes, whose houses were made of light materials, were affected by Typhoon Kiko. The cash assistance, she said, will be of great help to the families in rebuilding their homes.

Joining OIC Ibañez in the turnover ceremony was NHA Region 2/CAR 2 Manager Engr. Ferdinand C. Sales. Through NHA’s EHAP, the agency releases cash aid to families whose houses were destroyed or damaged by man-made or natural calamities such as earthquakes, typhoons, flash floods, and fires.

Under the leadership of GM Tai, NHA shall continuously partner with the provincial and local governments to assist families affected by calamities and natural disasters and will deliver its mandate to Build Better and More (BBM) housing for the Filipino people.
