National Housing Authority turned over a total of P12.5 million cash assistance to the Provincial Government of Leyte on December 31, 2001, for 2,500 families affected by Typhoon Odette.

NHA Region VIII OIC Engr. Ericson S. Delloro with Leyte 1,2,3/Biliran District Office OIC Engr. Silverio T. Gempeson, Jr., and Team Head of Leyte 4,5/Southern Leyte District Office, Engr. Thelma Corregidor-Aguilon led the ceremonial turnover of the check to Province of Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla.

Meanwhile, on December 30, 2021, NHA released P45 million in funding assistance to the Province of Southern Leyte Governor Damian G. Mercado to benefit 9,000 families whose houses were damaged and destroyed by Typhoon Odette.

Through the NHA Memorandum Circular No. 2021-70, the NHA General Manager urgently allocated and downloaded the funds to the Provincial Government Units in response to the Presidential Directive No 2021-74 directing the NHA to provide necessary assistance to Typhoon Odette victims. NHA’s Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program (Special EHAP) shall provide P5,000 for each beneficiary family to augment rebuilding their houses, regardless of the damage sustained.
