The National Housing Authority (NHA) Region II / CAR II unveiled two resettlement projects in Isabela, Cagayan on April 21, 2022 under the Resettlement Assistance Program for Local Government Units (RAP-LGU).

NHA Region II / CAR II Regional Manager (RM) Roderick Ibañez led the inauguration of the Gamu Resettlement Project in Linglingay, Gamu, Isabela and in San Fabian, Echague, Isabela.

According to RM Ibañez, the Gamu Resettlement Project was developed for the municipality’s underprivileged and less fortunate typhoon victims. The NHA financed the project with the total amount of P25 million through the NHA RAP-LGU, while the LGU of Gamu, Isabela provided the 30,000 sqm land.

RM Ibañez said, “This project will deliver 56 duplex houses and lots with a lot area of 70 sqm modal and total house area of 26 sqm.”

On the other hand, the Echague Resettlement Project benefited typhoon victims, families living in danger areas, and families displaced by government projects. The municipal government of Echague provided 17,137 sqm of land, and the development of which was financed by the NHA amounting to P25 million.

The project, RM Ibañez added, will deliver 46 housing lots and 54 lots with existing housing units constructed by Gawad Kalinga.

Meanwhile, joining RM Ibañez were NHA District Manager Engr. Ferdinand C. Sales, Gamu Municipal Mayor Nestor Malasig Uy, Echague Municipal Mayor Francis Faustino A. Dy, Gamu Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Daize Rilla B. Tabin-Espinas, and project beneficiaries.
