The National Housing Authority (NHA) Region VI distributed P7.29 million worth of cash assistance to 1,458 families affected by Typhoon Odette in Silay City, Negros Occidental on December 27 and 28 from the NHA’s Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).

Under the Special EHAP, the NHA shall provide P5,000 for each beneficiary-family to assist them in rebuilding their houses, regardless of the extent of damaged sustained, after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

NHA Negros Occidental District Office Officer-in-Charge Engr. Liezl C. Micquit led the turnover with the help of other NHA Region VI staff, Silay barangay health workers, Silay Department of Social Welfare and Development, Silay City councilors, and Silay Mayor Mark Andrew Arthur J. Golez.

Through NHA Memorandum Circular No. 2021-070, NHA General Manager Marcelino P. Escalada Jr. immediately ordered the release of cash assistance to all families left homeless by the typhoon through their respective local and provincial government units in response to Presidential Directive No. 2021-074, directing the Authority to provide necessary assistance to the typhoon victims.
