The National Housing Authority (NHA) welcomed its new General Manager (GM) Joeben Tai on August 1, 2022 as he arrived at the NHA main office in Quezon City for the first time.
On July 29, 2022, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. administered the oath taking of GM Tai as the new head of the NHA.
“I am humbled by the President’s trust and confidence in me to take on this huge responsibility of ensuring that Filipinos continue to have access to quality and sustainable housing,” GM Tai said in a Facebook post a day after the oath taking.
GM Tai promised to continue the NHA’s mission ‘to provide sustainable, weather-resistant, and affordable homes,’ and to ‘uplift the living conditions of our fellow Filipinos.’
“I am prepared to take on this undertaking, as I work to address our current situation on housing,” he assured.

After his tour of the different offices at the NHA main office compound, GM Tai and his staff proceeded to a closed-door meeting with select NHA managers.
Former Officer-in-Charge and concurrent Housing Support Services Group Manager Atty. Maria Magdalena T. De Leon-Siacon in a statement welcomed GM Tai saying, “I am excited knowing that the new GM came from the private sector. He will be introducing a lot of reforms and best practices that we can emulate in the government. GM Tai is still very young, but rich in experience in the field of real estate, so we are hoping that he will be able to help NHA achieve greater heights.”
Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), GM Tai began his journey in housing as a broker selling residential and commercial properties.
Apart from his new role as the NHA head, GM Tai is also a member of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and a director of the Anvil Business Club.
The NHA community is looking forward to embarking on a new journey with GM Tai in “Building Adequate, Livable, Affordable, and Inclusive (BALAI) Filipino Communities.”
